Ami Metav spent many years at Israel’s Ministry of Defense. In his last position at the Ministry, he was responsible for the Old City of Jerusalem and acquired intimate knowledge of its historic sites and hidden alleyways. After retirement, he went on to complete an MA in Archaeology and Israel Studies at Bar Ilan University, ran a tourism school in Jerusalem, and became a licensed tour guide. In recent years he has directed and coordinated tourism infrastructure development projects for government and municipal agencies in the Old City, while guiding groups and individuals at well-known and less well-known places in the city.
